Nutraceuticals World is an independent Canadian blog about supplements, nutrition and the business behind them. We write for two groups of people who rarely get served by the same publication: the person standing in the supplement aisle wondering what actually works, and the people who formulate, regulate, sell and market those products.
Why this site exists
Walk into any pharmacy and you’ll find a wall of bottles, each promising better sleep, sharper focus or a stronger immune system. Some of those promises are backed by solid research. Plenty aren’t. Most shoppers have no easy way to tell the difference.
The industry side has its own version of the problem. Founders launching a first product, marketers trying to stay on the right side of Health Canada, and retailers deciding what to stock are all piecing together information from press releases, paywalled reports and forum threads.
We think both groups are better off with clear, honest information. Informed shoppers reward good products. Well-informed brands make better products. That’s the loop we want to help along.
Two audiences, one standard
For everyday readers
- Supplement Guides: what a supplement does, who it might help, how to read the label and when you can probably skip it.
- Nutrition & Wellness: sleep, gut health, energy, ageing well and the everyday habits that matter more than any pill.
- Ingredient Science: what the studies really say about ashwagandha, creatine, magnesium, probiotics and whatever is trending this month.
For industry professionals
- Industry Insights & Market Data: category trends, consumer behaviour and the numbers behind them.
- Regulation & Compliance: NPN licensing, labelling, claims and advertising rules in Canada, plus how US and global rules affect cross-border brands.
- Brand Growth & Strategy: sourcing, manufacturing, retail, ecommerce and marketing, written for the people actually doing the work.
How we write
- Evidence first. We lean on peer-reviewed research, Health Canada monographs and official guidance, and we link to our sources so you can check them.
- Honest about uncertainty. When the research is thin or mixed, we say so, even if that makes for a less exciting headline.
- No miracle claims. Supplements can help in specific situations. They don’t cure disease, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
- Kept up to date. Research and regulations change. We revisit articles and note when they’ve been updated.

What we’re not
We don’t sell supplements, and our articles aren’t medical advice. If you’re pregnant, taking medication or managing a health condition, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting something new. Any sponsored content is clearly labelled, and advertisers never get a say in our editorial coverage.
